Pharrell called J.Dilla “the fuckin beat king of all time” in an interview we did for Distortion 2 Static in 2005. Haylow took that piece and made it the intro to a mixtape he was working on, an excellent showcase of Dillas range as a producer and artist. He hit me up to do the artwork for it and I was totally down. A few days later, Dilla died. This mixtape, to my knowlege, is the very first Dilla tribute mixtape ever.
